The Philosophy of Agency in the Context of Ethics & Aesthetics of Difference
BEACON
We are all beings exercising our agency and going about life courageously, in our own way. Free will is intrinsic to our existence, and because it is free, it can be questioned—but such questioning is to be approached with care, compassion, respect, and forthrightness. To coerce, impose, or force another—whether by an individual or a system—is to infringe upon their free will, negating their agency and manipulating them into accepting the position of a victim; tantamount to dehumanisation. At the same time, genuine care should be extended to those who have internalised disempowerment, restoring their agency through healing.
In a society where victimhood can become an identity—sometimes imposed, weaponised, or co-opted—clarity is essential: to see how structures shape power, discern where agency is suppressed, and ensure that neither suffering nor accountability is obscured by narratives of disempowerment.
This ensures that our Difference is recognised and acknowledged while creating room for unity to arise creatively, organically, from Relation.
SEAD is a field of orientation
TANGENTS
It introduces a constellation of concepts; each concept functions as an aperture—an opening through which perception can recalibrate and movement can begin.
In 2025, SEAD is unveiled after months of conceptualisation and years of lived inquiry. Its crest, designed by Ragini Siruguri, draws from the glyphic language of the Dreamspell Destiny Oracle. The school begins as a field of orientation.
02
INVITATION
In 2026, the doors open to faculty, administrators, artists, educators, and participants. SEAD grows through co-stewardship and remains open to all who resonate with its orientation.
03
MANIFESTATION
By mid-2026, foundational projects involving artists, educators, and proactive agents of change begin to take form. Participation is open across age, geography, and national identity, with children-specific initiatives in development.
04
RECOGNITION
Beginning in 2027, SEAD shapes tools and markers of accreditation for contributors and participants alike, recognising sustained engagement while remaining non-institutional in spirit.
